1. Definitions
"Platform" refers to PGTribes — the website, mobile applications, and all related services operated by PGTribes.
"User" means any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform, including tenants, owners, staff, and visitors.
"Tenant" means a user seeking or occupying paying-guest (PG) accommodation through the Platform.
"Owner" means a user who lists one or more PG properties on the Platform.
"Content" includes listings, photos, descriptions, reviews, messages and any other material uploaded or made available on the Platform.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law to register on PGTribes.
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration, and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information, fail KYC verification, or violate these Terms.
3. Use of the Platform
PGTribes is a marketplace that connects tenants with PG owners. We do not own, manage or operate the PG properties listed on the Platform. We act as a facilitator only.
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Post false, misleading, fraudulent or defamatory content.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform.
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract data without our written permission.
- Solicit users off-platform to avoid fees or bypass our verification processes.
- Engage in brokerage or charge tenants any brokerage fees.
4. Owner Obligations
PG owners listing properties on the Platform represent and warrant that:
- They have the legal right to list the property and to enter into rental agreements with tenants.
- All information, photographs and pricing details provided are accurate and up to date.
- They comply with all local laws, including registration, tax, fire safety and accommodation regulations.
- They will honour the pricing, amenities and terms shown on the Platform.
- They will respond to tenant queries and complaints in a timely manner.
- They will not discriminate against tenants on the basis of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
5. Tenant Obligations
Tenants using the Platform represent and warrant that:
- All information provided during booking and KYC is true and accurate.
- They will respect the house rules, terms and timings set by the PG owner.
- They will pay rent and other charges on time.
- They will not engage in illegal activities or cause damage to the property.
- They will provide honest reviews and feedback based on their actual experience.
6. Bookings, Payments & Rent
All bookings, rent payments and security deposits are routed through our secure payment gateway. PGTribes does not store card or banking credentials.
The rental agreement is a contract between the tenant and the owner. PGTribes is not a party to this contract and is not liable for any breach by either side.
Rent receipts are generated automatically by the Platform once payment is confirmed. Late payments may attract penalties as defined by the owner's policy on the property page.

7. Owner Subscription & Fees
Listing a PG on PGTribes is free during the trial period. After the trial, owners must subscribe to one of our paid plans to keep their listings active.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in our Refund Policy. Failure to renew a subscription will result in listings being marked inactive and hidden from public search.
We reserve the right to revise our plans, pricing and features at any time. Existing subscribers will be honoured at their current rate for the remainder of their billing cycle.
8. Verification & Listings
While we make reasonable efforts to verify PG owners through KYC and physical site visits, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any listing.
Tenants are encouraged to visit the property, inspect the amenities, and confirm details with the owner before making any payment.
We reserve the right to remove listings that violate our policies, receive multiple complaints, or are reported as fraudulent.
9. User Content & Reviews
By posting content, reviews or photos on PGTribes, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce and distribute that content on the Platform.
Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are defamatory, abusive, paid, or violate community guidelines.
You retain ownership of your content but are solely responsible for its accuracy and legality.
10. Intellectual Property
The PGTribes name, logo, design, software, and all related materials are the exclusive property of PGTribes and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of our Platform or its content without our prior written consent.
11. Privacy & Data Protection
We collect and process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to such collection and processing.
We never share your personal details with brokers or unauthorized third parties. Owner-tenant communications happen through the Platform to keep your contact details private.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the operation of the Platform or the accuracy of its content.
PGTribes is not responsible for the conduct, safety or legality of any tenant, owner or third party. Any dispute between tenant and owner must be resolved directly between the parties, though we may facilitate communication in good faith.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PGTribes, its directors, employees and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.
Our total cumulative liability to any user shall not exceed the total fees paid by that user to PGTribes in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PGTribes from any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your violation of any law or rights of a third party.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
You may close your account at any time by writing to hello@pgtribes.com. Termination does not affect rights and obligations that have accrued before the termination date.
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email or in-app notification.
